Abstract:
In this paper, various morphologies of two polymorphs of a steroid are observed and correlated to calculated morphologies using the connected net theory. Three unusual growth behaviours are described. Firstly the polymorphic epitaxial growth as a result from variations in the supersaturation. Secondly, the observation of crystals that have a morphology which does not correspond to its observed polymorph. Thirdly, the observation of a particular crystal face with mosaic patterns.
